The Feeding of the Sleuth!

Over 50 hungry bears (a group of bears is called a sleuth) showed up for our annual Friendsgiving! They demolished over 70 lbs. of turkey, a ham, elk stew (a special gift from a friend), 40 lbs. of mashed potatoes and all the fixings! A number of our already connected students invited their teammates and Karen and I were able to meet them and began building relationships with them with the goal to share Christ with them and see them become life-long laborers for the Kingdom! Thanks for your prayers and investment in the lives of these athletes!

Ultimate Training CamP-Croatian Style

We just returned from Croatia last night and had a great time helping to lead the first UTC there. Here are some highlights

*24 athletes participated in the entire project, including the Special with an additional 10 younger and older participants during the Principles and Labs training

*These athletes were from the US, Croatia, Moldova and The Netherlands

*The participants rated the camp 8.6 on a scale of 1 to 10 as far as its overall excellent and impact in their lives

*The student sharing night was amazing as some of the athletes shared how God had met them before and during the UTC in miraculous ways

*Many in the small city of 8,000 the UTC took place in, Daruvar, heard about the camp and were very interested in hearing more about what we were doing, particularly the concept of integrating faith and sport. As a result, several journalists wrote articles about the UTC

All moved in!

We are all moved in and using our home to host family, friends and athletes in the Bay Area.

Oliver, our Maine Coon, and Medo, the Pomeranian Wonder Dog, are in charge of House Security and stand guard!

A gift from god!

After 2 years of searching, God gave us a beautiful home in Berkeley in late November! We have enjoyed having all four children home for Christmas and look forward to having student athletes over to give them a home away from home!

We viewed over 100 homes over the past two years and were outbid by over $700,000 for one of the homes we offered on. But in the end, we walked into a house that made Karen immediately say “this is it!” We were able to make on offer within three days and were rejected. But, absolutely miraculously, the owners slept on the offer and accepted it the next day at an amount significantly less than they originally wanted! God has truly provided!

There and Back again!

We had an incredible week in Croatia as we led a team of 15 staff and students from Cal, UCLA and San Diego State for an outreach to students in the Kinesiology department at the University of Zagreb! It was life-changing for both the American students who went and the Croatian students we met during the week!
